Healing Nature

Nature is an amalgamation of the food we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the climate that makes our planet inhabitable. Today we are living in exceptional times, when nature is sending the message that to care for ourselves, we need to take care of nature. It is the time to look after nature, as it does for us.

Love for Green:

Almost all corporations, big or small, partake in varied activities, most such events are focused upon increasing their green foot print. From organizing plantation drives to holding awareness walks, professional groups have done it all on World Environment Day.

Go Natural:

There is no better time than now to modify your daily activities; making them more eco-friendly. Be it choosing plantable stationery items or everyday consumer durables like glasses, bottles, etc., sustainable products are the future. you may not be able to switch your supplies at once, but you can always choose environment-friendly products when you have to.

Recycled paper products now come in many forms. A sustainable change in this area of life will have a significant positive impact considering how frequently paper products are used. Using biodegradable pens made from renewable or recycled material is a great way to make office eco-friendly. One can also choose plantable stationery items in order to reduce some waste or use products made from 100 per cent recycled news paper.

Managing the Waste:

As per the International Solid Waste Association (ISWA), there are overall three priorities for waste management during the period of pandemic. Firstly, it should be ensured that waste management, recycling services, treatment, and disposal facilities will not be disrupted and no extra risks for public health will be created by improper waste management. Waste management workers, especially those in collection, should take additional precautions.

Surroundings Matter:

Today water harvesting has become the buzz word. It is unfortunate that rather than working on improving  the same, people spoil the small or large water bodies that are near their residential or work areas by dumping garbage in them.

Green Homes:

Ensuring that the carbon footprint and impact of ecology is as low as possible, many are adopting the concept of having sustainable ‘green home’. From having provisions of solar power, thus, cutting down on electricity consumption to arranging for rain water harvesting, biogas as well as home grown organic veggies, future of housing certainly needs an environmental check.

Today, switching to a sustainable lifestyle has become a necessity. At a time when our forests are burning, lakes are frothing, and trees are cut down, we cannot sit back and watch. If building a green home is a distant dream, start small. Even smaller life style changes can go a long way in contributing to Mother Earth.
