We owe a clean and liveable planet to our future kind. Being the only high intellectual species on the planet. It is upon mankind to save it. To survive on this earth. It is very important to have a supportive environment. Why do we need to protect the environment? Because it helps in protecting the ecosystem that sustains all humans. Establishing its importance, it’s time to make plans for a commonly desired goal.
By Oneself:
Though there have been massive technological developments in the recent times, it definitely has adversely affected the environment. Various non-government organizations, and the government, have joined hands to protect the ecology, but we as individuals need to come together and save whatever is left in planet. A baby step would be to preserve energy, as it helps in reducing pollution and emission of green house gases. It can begin by something as simple as turning off the lights, television, and other electronics when not in use: for each step counts.
Averting Excesses:
Unfortunately, humans are not doing much to protect the environment. Excessive consumption of fossil fuel, cars, electricity, and water is leaving earth’s natural resources dwindled. The only thing required here is to start being careful about ones use of products that are adversely affecting the ecosystem.
Waste Management:
From throwing trash in the water bodies, or burning it which leads to the creation of toxic smog in the lower atmosphere, pollution is one of the major concerns that is harming the environment. Collecting recyclable items such as plastic and aluminium for recycling is a beginning, and trying to make use of these elsewhere is waste management. Plastic makes about 80% of the garbage floating around in various water bodies and that’s harmful because even though this material can break down, it can never completely decompose by itself. Vehicles that run entirely on gasoline, produce harmful wastes like nitrogen dioxide, both of which are lethal to all living beings.
The Three R’s:
Protecting the planet starts with you. Following are the 3 R’s- Reduce, Reuse and Recycle- should always be one’s mantra in preventing the environment from hazards. Along with that one also needs to educate others.
With these simple plans, environment can be prevented from global warming, and pollution, which can improve human health and life on the blue planet.
