Use Local Plant Materials to Reduce Carbon Foot Print

If you are gifting a bouquet or a plant to your dear ones, think twice before giving. It may have a large carbon foot print.

You must be thinking…. HOW???

Flowers like tulip, orchids, hummer, even off season roses and other exotic plants which are not at all local, have an enormous carbon foot print. These require a extra large of water to nurture. Simultaneously, as they can’t be grown here at local level, obviously they require fuel for travel.

So go for ecofriendly bouquet, which contains local flowers that too grown organically and may be arranged in a unique way. These days traditional look is in trend. Hence, be trendy as well as traditional.

Several Local Flowers which can be used in making beautiful bouquets bundled with palm, croton, thuja and other hardy leaves are Tagetus (Marigold), Chrysanthemums, Wild Zinnias, Ixora, Local roses, Wild lilies and many more. They may be bunched with crop wastes and twigs.

You can gift plants like Basil (tulsi), Alovera, Hibiscus, Evergreen and any plant according to likes, but not beyond your reach. These plants help in enhancing air quality, have medicinal value and add green in  surroundings.
