Home gardening is the emerging method to manage the household food security. It provides direct access to edibles that can be harvested, prepared and fed to the family members, often on a daily basis as well as if it is more in quantity, will help in reducing financial family problems or adds in saving for emergency. Even very poor, landless or near landless people practise gardening on small patches of homestead land, vacant lots, roadsides or edges of a field, or in containers/pots, balconies or on roof top. This gardening don’t cause any economical burden on family, using locally available planting materials, green manures, waste water irrigation etc.
It involves vegetables, various easily grown fruits which can tear the pockets due to high market prices. So, grow and grow …….
