There’s a small thread of revolution in the jewellery segment today- and it all starts with the thread! A slew of designers are fashioning new adornments using ‘katrans’… yes old and residue clothes, bead and embroidered pieces of fabric, laces etc.
It’s the new trend to stay “green” and sustainable. The final product prepared as jewellery is one-of-its-kind, quirky piece that’s bound to get noticed. These are eco-friendly pieces which are created with the remains of garments and other recycled elements like beads and feathers.
Sustainability is the new statement and jewellery has caught on. Most cloth jewellery makers use leftover fabric and embellishments to fashion earrings, brooches, hair accessories, neckpieces. bracelets, anklets and waistbands. Sometimes, even in today’s time jewellery without a jewel works wonders!
For doing this, you just need an artistic thought & interest and basic things like needle, thread, glue etc.
“Each time we wear precious jewellery we take something from mother earth. The trend is keeping belief of giving back to the earth.”
