Safe Guard your Inner Energy

A study shows that animal species that use less energy have a greater chance of survival. This has profound implications for humans too. if you want to live a longer, more productive life, use your energy wisely. people may question why they should want to live longer, but there are good reasons to do so.

How do you Save Energy?

Don’t waste it on trivial things.

  • You waste energy when your mind is at work setting up or solving conflicts.
  • You waste energy thinking about things, rather than doing things.
  • Anger is a huge waste of energy, like all other negative emotions.
  • You waste energy when you criticise your reltives or your colleagues, or take criticism to heart.
  • you also waste energy in an overactive social life, eating and drinking the wrong kinds of food and drinks, chatting on trivia, or fault-finding.
  • you waste energy, as well as money, in shopping things you don’t need.
  • you waste energy when the mind is restless and you keep doing things just to fill in the time.

We are nourished by our relationships and generous in return with our kindness and compassion for others. This doesn’t mean that life is a bed of roses; it is still full of good days and sad days. But we have an inner resilience and appreciation of life, armed with which we can deal with challenges and change. We think less about how others see and judge us and have the courage to ask ourselves what kind of person we are and how we might improve. Likewise, we tend to judge others less and feel more tolerant and patient towards people- even those who manage to push all of our bottons.

We still get upset, and we still get angry and frustrated when the world throws challenges in our path, but we being to see those emotions for what they are: something that feels very real, but that is not fixed and just as it comes it will go, so let it. To have a restful mind is to relax in your nature. You get to take refuge from anger, jealousy, grasping attachment, pride and ignorance and find fertile ground for planting the seeds for ideas, making decisions and finding direction. but not only do you have to find the fertile ground, you need to plant the rice and do the weeding too. you have to nourish and feed the seeds of your good life.

The restful mind is open, non-judgemental, curious, lively, patient and fearless. When the mind is restful there is a natural balance between the emotional and the rational. We can take care of everyday tasks, yet see the bigger picture at the same time. There is a feeling of harmony- that the mind is working with us, rather than running all over the place making us feel rushed and stressed and unsure about things. When our minds are in good health we will often tend to feel lucky and that we know our purpose for being here.

You can save a huge amount of energy if you try to simplify your life. this same energy, directed inwards, can bring about a spiritual transformation of your very being. Why settle for anything less? Just save your energy, and you can triumph over the world.
